HUMAN RIGHTS TRAINING FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

Human rights play and important part in law enforcement. Often referred to as civil liberties in the USA, there are internationally recognized standards of behavior with regard to how a government body can engage the rights of the citizen. In covert law enforcement their is significant potential to engage citizens rights. Understanding what the human rights standards are, helps officers ensure that the officer’s behavior meets the standards. We can provide training in relation to human rights conventions and their impact on policing. For those engaged in covert law enforcement in the United Kingdom our training provides the underpinning knowledge necessary to correctly understand the application of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA) and to prepare applications in a Human Rights Compliance way. In Australia, where Human Rights legislation is being introduced across the states, we can provide training to address all aspects of policing.

ETHICS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

There is significant pressure on police officers to act in an ethical manner and to make ethically based decisions. Our ethics courses provide officers with a clear understanding of the nature or ethics and morals, the differences between the two, and different approaches to making ethical decisions.
